The Datacenter Physical Security (DCPS) team is organized within CO+I. Physical Security is dedicated to delivering the most trustworthy and efficient physical security services to protect the personnel, infrastructure, data, and confidential information foundational to the Microsoft Cloud. We are seeking a Senior Artificial Intelligence Initiatives Program Manager to deliver security solutions for strategic AI initiatives. As a Program and Project Manager, this role will collaborate with internal and external teams, including regional Physical Security, Security Engineering, Azure Engineering, Business Development, Datacenter Operations, suppliers, and customers, to plan and execute initiatives that enhance the security of our AI physical infrastructure.

This Program Manager should have a solid understanding of AI and proactively share relevant information regarding AI security across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness. They must be able to scope problems, collaborate with subject matter experts to develop viable solutions, and prioritize appropriately while managing multiple concurrent projects across geographical and organizational boundaries. They must also act ethically, with a sense of personal accountability for end-to-end quality and completeness and demonstrate resilience in times of rapid growth and change.

  • This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must ​relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned projects in accordance with established requirements, deadlines, and applicable employment law and company policy with a focus on delivering security strategies for AI initiatives.
  • Confirm project requirements, collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute on the project charter.
  • Manage AI project scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality control, communications, and reporting activities.
  • Draft and review contracts in partnership with suppliers, submit purchase orders, and approve invoices.
  • Ensure project-related suppliers are compliant with all security controls, policies, and objectives.
  • Partner with teams responsible for technical design, engineering, construction, and integration of datacenter and critical infrastructure facilities globally.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance AI projects with new technologies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Collaborate on developing tooling to manage the DCPS AI programs.
  • Collaborate with Risk and other teams to monitor and communicate the development of current, emerging, and evolving threats against AI with the potential to impact Microsoft infrastructure, business, people, and assets.
  • Continuously seek data and strategies to solve problems and improve the efficiency and maturity of the physical security program.
  • Escalate physical security impacting incidents appropriately, ensuring that leadership is made initially and continuously aware as needed.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in Security Program or Project Management or related field
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time in both planned and unplanned scenarios

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • 3+ years work experience in the security industry.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) security solutions, including their development, implementation, and optimization.
  • Ability to drive projects to closure, meeting requirements and budget.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified.
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) OR equivalent Protection certification OR Physical Security Professional (PSP) OR equivalent Physical Security Certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Risk, or related field AND 12+ years experience in Security Program or Program Management OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven capability to effectively engage with both business and technical engineering teams.
  • Confident and skilled in delivering presentations and briefings to customers, senior leaders, and executives.
  • Experience making and influencing good decisions that impact mission-critical, 24x7 operations environments.

Security IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
