Position Overview
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Senior Director, Software Engineering - Automation & Artificial Intelligence to lead our enterprise-wide automation efforts and initiatives in applying modern automation, AI, and generative AI technologies. This leadership role offers an exceptional opportunity to drive efficiency and productivity across the organization by harnessing the power of automation and AI.
You will have a proven track record in leading process automation efforts, building teams of automation developers and AI experts, Observability & Employee and Systems data, and implementing innovative technology solutions that have a measurable impact on employee productivity, systems, and process efficiencies. The leader will develop a comprehensive Automation & AI blueprint, data-driven decision-making, optimizing business processes, and promoting an advanced technological infrastructure directly contributing to scaling the needs of business.
Responsibilities
- Define the strategic roadmap for automation, AI, Observability & Employee/System data programs according to business objectives
- Provide technical guidance to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
- Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and requirements, propose technical solutions, and lead the implementation of the chosen solutions
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable and robust automation frameworks, systems, Enterprise Observability, and AI-driven applications with the help of Software development and data science teams
- Lead research and experimentation efforts to explore new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance automation capabilities and leverage AI solutions effectively
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's technical landscape, data infrastructure, and data processing pipelines for Employees and System Infra datasets
- Develop and maintain documentation for Automation & AI systems, including technical specifications, system architecture diagrams, and user guides
- Ensure that Automation & AI systems comply with relevant regulatory requirements, such as data privacy laws and industry standards
- Keep up to date with the latest Automation, Observability, Data & AI technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization's technical landscape
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with 12+ years of relevant work experience
- Proven experience (5+ years) in designing and implementing Automation & AI systems in a commercial environment and leading global teams in AI and Automation space
- Leading Directors or Sr. Managers for different pillars in the space progressively growing in Automation & platform technologies
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects on time and within budget
- Strong expertise in Automation & AI technologies, Observability, including deep learning, natural language processing, programming languages such as Python, R, Julia, Java, and data processing and storage technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies, cloud platforms, and DevOps principles. (DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Proven Cloud computing platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, and MLOps tools: Kubeflow, MLflow, TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe, APM, Synthetics)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and inspire a shared vision for automation and AI initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement in software engineering practices
