The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.
The Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning Engineering (CSCP-E) group is an exciting and fast evolving engineering group within Microsoft that powers Microsoft’s Cloud-First mission. We are responsible for supporting the supply chain that powers Microsoft Azure’s cloud infrastructure. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and influence the way one of the world’s largest and fastest growing cloud environments is built and supported. We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us fortify our AI and Machine Learning capabilities in our engineering team. The best fit candidate will blend Software Engineering skills and a passion for Machine Learning with an ability to work across teams to build successful solutions for a diverse set of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for the following:
- Be a self-starter with a demonstrated track record of providing technology vision and driving them through.
- Apply Engineering Principals to develop Machine Learning and Generative AI Systems.
- Operationalize and Deploy Machine Learning models and systems on the Azure Cloud.
- Support and maintain our systems and services through regular maintenance and break fix support
- Collaborate with partner teams (engineering, designers, end users, and data science) to deliver end-to-end systems and experiences.
- Ensure solution delivered adheres to the technological standards established in the organization Dive into individual problem areas and guide the engineering team by making recommendations and best approaches.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Scala or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience with Machine Learning Engineering
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings
Microsoft Cloud Background Check
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with Machine Learning Operations and Engineering
- Understand fundamental data science concepts and algorithms
- Security mindset
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
